Adam Grant’s new book – Hidden Potential – is probably his finest work to date.
We all are trained to look at test scores and look for child prodigies at a young age – these are ingrained deeply into our culture and society.
Yet, talent is not necessarily the best because of the hard skills which can be measured on tests. And just because you were the “best” at age five doesn’t mean you will be at twenty-five.
We have to open our minds, realise that the soft skills matter. We can continue to learn and evolve as we age, and that the best talent may not be the “obvious talent” according to popular metrics like school test results.
