We all know people work best according to their own preferences. Some start the day with a bang, others need a coffee to get going. Some prefer long lunches, others none at all. And some are night owls and work well without interruption.
Have you redesigned your workplace to take these preferences into account? We don’t need to focus on bums on seats and managers standing over employees’ shoulders. Rather, if we get the social contract right ie you do this in exchange for this, then we will be on a better path.
Freedom to adapt and choose produces better outcomes.
