Creative space

We often battle about where innovation happens.

Some say it happens at home because you have peace and quiet and can think.

Some say, come to the office so you collide with others and that innovation happens best there.

However I don’t align to either of these views. I think innovation tends to happen when you are neither in your regular office environment or in your home workspace.

I think it happens most commonly when you are in a creative environment, an environment where you are not usually. That could be a coffee shop, or a bar or a restaurant.

Taking people out of the work and out of the home environment frees us and let’s us think and chat in a different environment : typically sparking connection and ideas.

I would be designing offices with more of these creative spaces than ever before.
