Inclusion creates diversity

We often think that diversity within our companies is a problem to be solved. We throw money at “the problem” and ensure everyone has sufficient training.

But when you think about it, it seems to make more sense to think that inclusion creates diversity. And instead of treating diversity as the problem, we should work to create inclusion – which will in turn help diversity thrive.

We could focus more on how to work together, how to listen to one another, and how to be respectful. Rather than (only) learning about differences and teaching people about those we should go a step further and learn inclusion.
