John Boyd was an American military strategist who helped to design a number of new Air Force planes during his career.

Often he faced huge resistance and blocks to change. So he worked in secrecy at times, until his products were too compelling to say no to.

One of his mantras was that it was important to challenge all assumptions. He said “if you don’t, what is doctrine on day one becomes dogma forever after”.
